In case you didn’t know…
Candice LeRae defeated Renee Michelle and Nicole Savoy to advance to the Semi-Finals of the Mae Young Classic, losing to Shayna Baszler. However, she wasn’t immediately signed by the WWE.
LeRae has made another appearance for the company, competing in a battle royale to determine the last spot in the Fatal Fourway match for the NXT Women’s Title at NXT TakeOver: WarGames.
The heart of the matter
There’s always been the impression that LeRae signing a full-time contract with the WWE was a matter of when, and not if, with rumours surfacing earlier this month that a deal was close to happening.
Squared Circle Sirens have reported that Candice LeRae has now officially signed with the WWE, adding that it is a developmental deal.
What’s next?
As much as I’m sad to see the end of ‘The World’s Cutest Tag-Team’ with Candice LeRae and Joey Ryan storming the indies as a mixed-gender team, I am excited to see LeRae in the WWE as she’s truly an exceptional talent. There’s a reason why the ‘Bullet Club’ have often cited her as someone they’d want as a member.
Author’s take
Another day, another excellent addition to the roster for WWE. With LeRae reportedly heading to the Performance Centre we can’t be sure when we’ll be seeing her on weekly NXT television, but I can’t imagine it’ll take too long.
