That’s right, the game doesn’t’ release until early November, but Naughty Dog is giving you the full multiplayer experience starting this Saturday, October 1st, all for the price of a medium drink. But this isn’t just a multiplayer beta like we saw a month or so ago, this is the complete competitive multiplayer “suite.”
Naughty Dog fought hard to bring gamers this Uncharted 3 exclusive, and the partnership with Subway is sure to move some subs, but more importantly gamers will get to see whether Sony’s definitive multiplayer experience is worth all the hype. Most Subway items — including sandwiches and cookies which net purchasers anything from premium themes to in-game items — should be stocking the shelves of your local Subway as we speak for a release tomorrow, so hold off on the turkey sandwich until tomorrow.
The multiplayer, however, doesn’t begin until Saturday, and will run until the 31st, and, to top it all of, all of the bonuses earned during your multiplayer experience in October will carry over when the final game releases on November 1st.
For those who are curious about how the multiplayer has changed since the beta, Naughty Dog dropped one specific example to USA Today:
Naughty Dog has definitely laid their cards on the table for both the single and the multiplayer in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. There’s still some mystery surrounding the game’s story — how villain Katherine Marlowe figures into it all, for one — but by this time Saturday there will be no secrets about the multiplayer.
Are you ready to jump into the Uncharted 3 multiplayer a month early? Do you think that releasing a heavily single player-focused title’s multiplayer variant early will help boost sales for multiplayer fans?
Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception releases November 1, 2011 for the Ps3.
