Though Skyrim offers its players the option to fast travel to the different locales in Skyrim’s Tamriel, many players likely still find riding horses an interesting experience. This often allows them to discover unique spots between short distances and take in the scenery if their game is fully modded out with spectacular visual effects. However, even though Skyrim horses are a feature in the game, there are still a lot of players who experience hilarious glitches and bugs that involve them.

Another victim of a Skyrim horse-riding glitch, Redditor sterrre shared a clip of their character sliding across the map while astride their horse. The only context given is in the post’s caption, which sterre titled “Fast Travel.” In one of the comments, the Redditor explains that they were suddenly sent flying when their NPC companion in Skyrim got on their other horse. The clip shows the player’s character soaring across fields for at least 15 seconds, before they land roughly on some rocks. Hilariously, the player’s character takes a lot of fall damage, while their horse comes out of the ordeal seemingly unscathed.

The comments on sterre’s Reddit thread show that the game’s community seems quite used to seeing glitches like these. Most of the commenters just reacted with humor, stating how they have experienced the same thing and sharing that they have had many horse mounts in Skyrim die on them. Others made fun of the Redditor’s post caption, stating that what happened to them definitely is one way to fast travel. Though most gaming communities would likely complain about these kinds of issues, the player base is used to them already and just finds humor in them instead.

With the amount of players Skyrim still has in its community, more horse-riding glitches will likely be shared by fans online in the future. Even if there are already a lot of tweaks and fixes to minimize these bugs, many players consider them funny surprises when they happen during a playthrough.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series platforms.
