While players initially only have access to the regular Furi mode and the easier Promenade Mode, completing the game’s first run in its normal mode unlocks Furier mode. Here, bosses are more fierce and have new movesets as well, which is pretty entertaining indeed. This mode might seem daunting, but the following tips will ensure that players can get through this phase with ease too.

8 Change Control Schemes To Perform Multiple Actions At Once

The default control scheme of Furi is decent enough, but players will quickly realize that it’s not the optimal way to play Furi. Multitasking is important to get through most of the bosses in Furier mode, and sticking to one action at a time will lead to a ton of frustration.

The simplest way that players can make their game easier is to try out different control schemes that let them perform multiple actions at the same time. If players are unclear about what this means, then keep on reading.

7 Try Dodging While Charging An Attack

One of the best ways to maximize damage in Furi is by charging up an attack and unleashing it on a boss. This will hot them for a ton of damage and also leave them vulnerable for a counterattack. However, this is easier said than done, especially since The Rider is pretty much a sitting duck when he’s charging up this attack.

However, The Rider can still dodge around while he’s charging an attack. By changing the control scheme, the player can charge up an attack while dodging the boss’ moves to unleash this powerful move with ease…after a bit of practice, that is.

6 Parry & Shoot At The Same Time

Another combination of moves involves shooting while parrying an enemy’s melee attack. While this can only be accomplished in the ranged phase, it’s still a great way to maximize the overall damage that players can inflict on a boss.

It also makes the player feel great as they shoot the boss in the face while also negating the damage from their attacks. This combination of parrying and shooting is something that players should definitely learn to get them through the challenging bullet hell segments of these bosses in Furi.

5 Bosses Will Avoid Full Combos, So Try A Half-Charged Attack

The Rider’s traditional 4-hit combo is a great way to incapacitate enemies in Furi. It leaves these bosses vulnerable and allows players to gain some composure before dealing with the next wave of attacks. However, in Furier Mode, bosses are way faster and won’t be caught sitting around as players unleash this combo. They’ll dodge the last hit and start up with an attack of their own, forcing the player to quickly start parrying and/or dodging these attacks once again.

So instead of this classic 4-hit combo, there’s a way to dish out damage that is way more effective. The player should hit the boss twice normally, before charging and unleashing a third hit that’s charged. It deals more damage and lets players deal with these close-quarter segments more efficiently.

4 Shoot Vulnerable Enemies Before Initiating Counterattack

Landing a charged attack or a perfect parry is one of the most satisfying moves players can pull off in Furi. It leaves a boss completely open for a quick and cinematic move that can be pretty epic indeed.

Most people would want to unleash this attack as soon as possible in Furier Mode too. However, keep in mind that these bosses stay in this vulnerable state for quite some time and take damage during this phase as well. A better course of action would be to pepper them with a few bullets before initiating this attack, to deal the most damage possible.

3 Sneak In A Charge Boost When The Enemy Is Knocked Down

During close-quarters combat, players can perform a Boost Charge that lets their next attack hit for an immense amount of damage. However, The Rider is extremely vulnerable while performing this move, which can turn them into mincemeat if the boss decides to attack at that point.

It’s important for the boss to be knocked down before initiating this move. It’s the perfect time to charge up a powerful attack, and trying to employ it in any other instance is just a one-way ticket to failure.

2 Use A Controller Rather Than A Keyboard

This is a pretty obvious tip, and something the game recommends from the get-go as well. However, most would be surprised at the sheer number of people who still use a keyboard to play Furi.

While a regular playthrough might still be doable, bosses will absolutely beat players into a pulp if they try using a keyboard to play this game in Furier Mode. Furi was meant to be played with a controller, as opposed to struggling with a keyboard.

1 Parry Projectiles, Even Ones That Can’t Be Harmed With Bullets

Parrying is one of the most important skills to learn in Furi, especially since it lets The Rider regenerate precious health as well. However, a boss’ melee strikes aren’t the only thing that can be parried.

Enemy projectiles can also be parried to dish out some insulting damage. This includes projectiles that can’t be harmed with regular bullets, allowing The Rider to phase through them with ease.

Furi is available to play on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, and PlayStation 5.
